24h in London

Right, so let’s forget about the long blog absence and get crackin. After reading Hannah Gale’s post about her dream day in London it got me thinking about my dream day… so here goes!

9am – First stop would be Shoreditch High Street for a coffee and croughnut at Dum Dum doughnuts in Boxpark. Oh yes!
Then I would cross the road and go to Shorditch House and visit their Cowshed Spa for a mani, pedi and a back massage.

12pm – Relaxing is hungry work so after letting my tootsies and hands dry I head to Pizza East for a small bite. De-lish

1pm – Pizza is always a good idea, next stop is Space NK. All the goodness and tad snottiness makes it a bit like a posh Boots. I would prob pick up a new NARS laguna bronzer and a Audacious Lipstick.

2pm – I then jump on the central line and head to Oxford Circus. Topshop’s free personal shopper service is calling my name. If you’ve never been I highly recommend it, you basically get a stranger to choose you outfits that are a bit out of your comfort zone. The best part is that they don’t force you to buy anything.

4pm – Topshop was great but you know what’s even better… H&M. Look the one in Oxford Circus is the dream. It has a beauty section, shoe floor, homeware and much more.

5pm – Right enough shopping, time to have a bit of a sit down and get a coffee. Soho Grind on Beak Street is lovely. Top tip, go downstairs as it’s a bit quieter. Alternatively I would also suggest Sacred (Carnaby Street) if you’re a tea drinker.

6pm – Regents Street/Covent Garden – window shopping/ getting them Insta Selfies on point.

7pm – Charlotte Tilbury, Covent Garden. Make-up time! What can I say, this store is gorgeous!

8pm – Dinner at Duck and Waffle. I’ve wanted to try this place for the longest time. Fingers crossed it lives up to the hype.

10pm – Night at Claridges. A girl can dream right?

So that’s it! My dream 24h in London. What would yours be?

Looking through my pictures on my phone is one of my favourite things to do when i’m bored, sad, feeling nostalgic or need cheering up. I hardly ever share my pics on the net (sheer laziness) so thought i would share a few of my pics.

1) I grabbed this when it was International Women’s day… Neon signs are the best right?

2)  Can’t remember who this is by (sorry)! But always good to have a reminder

3) i’m the worst at doing anything to my hair but when i do it’s awesome

4) #makeupgoals

5)  One of my fav creative projects I’ve done for work

 6) ❤️ Girl Lost in the city

7)  Paperchase merchandising on point!

8) Perfect Chloè Drew (ish) dupe bag? I think this is a contender but i do worry that boobs and cross body bags just aren’t a good look!?!

9)  Minor celebrity orange is my personal fave!

10)  Pizza from Franca Manca! Affordable, tasty and gorge. Need i say more?

Things I really like at the moment

  • Taking pictures of flowers
  • Kanye West (all the songs from College Dropout)
  • Parks and Recreations – the episode were April and Andy get hitched is beautiful
  • American Glamour magazine. Thanks to a handy website called issuu I have been reading old issues of USA Glamour. Their editorial is so diverse and fun
  • Elle UK’s July Issue – the body issue. Now themed magazines gripe me. Vogue’s annual age issue frustrates me at no end!! Anyway what i really like about the body issue is the features and the cover story with Ellie is really refreshing.

  • Ramadan – just makes my heart feel full of joy seeing my family take part in this incredible spiritual time
  • These ASOS shoes are dreamy

  • M&S £10 bra sets
  • How divine does this Hourglass palette look? It’s ALL l want for Xmas (image via Diary Directory)!

  •  Browsing the Fashion and Beauty books in Waterstone’s

  • Watermelon 🍉🍉🍉

That’s pretty much my favourites so far! What’s yours?

Currently coveting #1

It’s Sunday! Boo….

Anyway here’s what I’m currently in my ‘shopping’ basket!

Untitled design
Untitled design (1)

1) H&M red linen shirt, 2) Real Techniques Sculpting Kit (currently on offer in Superdrug at the mo!), 3) Rose gold plate from H&M, 4) Nail Polish Remover ( I like the look of the bottle!), 5) Sophie Hulme bag! OK so pricey but if I was going to drop money on any ‘designer’ handbag right now it would be this. Plus I’ve got to support a fellow Kingston uni alumni!

6) OSKIA Cleansing gel – a really hyped up cleanser that I need to get my mitts on, 7) Face Paint by Lisa Eldridge (not yet released), 8 ‘Life after Life’ by Kate Atkinson, 9)  Margarat Dabbs Foot Cream (sexy I know) and finally Peanut Butter m&ms!

What’s in our virtual shopping basket peeps?

  • TRESemme Perfectly Undone mouse thing that my colleague gave to me
  • Hot chocolate powder – have only had about 2 cups since opening in Dec ’14
  • Nescafe Azera ‘Americano’ coffee blend. It tastes a bit like dirt but it’s better than the gravel they have at work.
  • Peony fake flowers – love these and they only cost me a £1
  • TIGER make-up holder LUVVVV this at the moment it’s currently holding an Essence lip butter, Benefit ‘ Fake Up’ concealer in medium, MUA lippie, Rimmel ‘Kate Moss’ lipstick’, Rodial’s ‘five-minute’ facial, nail-file, two Maybelline Super Stay Polishes and a Barry M polish.

Let’s get motivated

So the last time I blogged I was just finishing my Internship at BeautyMART, looking back I was so glad that I e-mailed the founder in the spur of the moment and gained some really valuable experience out of it.

If you’ve just stumbled upon my blog I have documented my journey on trying to find my first graduate job and I finally have some good news for y’all…I’ve been offered a graduate placement at QVC UK joining their digital media team!

Since graduating there have been many times were I’ve felt like giving up but I kept persevering and spent nearly all my holidays off work on placements/experience. I really found websites such as How To Be Jobless, Go Think Big, IdeasTap and Graduate Fog really helpful when it came to keeping me motivated and inspired. (The GTB lunch time masterclasses helped me bag two work experience slots at Heat and Top Santé magazine- so what you waiting for?)

One of the biggest lessons I learnt in my gap year was to stop comparing myself to other people. I guess everyone’s pace in life is different and nothing is ever really planned!

I have no idea what the year ahead is going to bring me, but I’m so ready to get my teeth into something new!

Hello full time job, is it me you’re looking for….
